This is an FAQ for using custom maps with Rainbow Six 3. * * UPDATED * *In no particular order.Q: Can I use these maps with an unmodded xbox?A: NO.
Q: Can I use these maps with XBOX Live!?A: NO. Never.
Q: Can I use these maps with XLINK/Kai?A: Hell yeah! or at a LAN Party! Anything using System Link!
Q: Can I use these maps using a game disc?A: No. Unless you make a backup copy of your original with the additional maps added to the ISO before burning the backup.
Q: How do I install these maps?A: Each map has all the necessary subfolders (including MAPS, SYSTEM, TEXTURES, etc...) that must be copied to the appropriate folders in your stored copy of the game on your xbox.
Ex. F/GAMES/Rainbox Six 3/
Copy everything in MAPS to the F/GAMES/Rainbox Six 3/MAPS folder.
Copy everything in TEXTURES to the F/GAMES/Rainbox Six 3/TEXTURES folder.
You get the point by now.
Q: Is there an easier way to install them?A: Yes. Find a program called XR8D Map Manager. You can find it at:
Map Alliance ProjectAvalaunch v0.49.1 can download and install these for you also.
Q: Where can I get these maps?A: Map Alliance Project. These are 100% Working maps.

Q: Do I have to use a cracked or pirated [read illegal] version of the game to use these maps?A: No. Xbox-Scene does not support or condone illegal xbox activities. The game only has to be on the hard drive (or added to a backup DVD copy) to support the additional maps.
Q: How do I use these maps?A: Load your copy of RS3 and these maps will be available under the multiplayer system link modes SHARPSHOOTER and SURVIVAL. TEAM also. There are one or two so far that will work under MISSION or TERRORIST HUNT.
Q: If I have a copy of the maps and who I am playing with doesn't, can they use my maps?A: All players wanting to play MUST have the copy of that particular map on their game.
Q: How do I make my own maps?A: The map editor is included with Raven Shield on the PC. Please do not ask where to get this. Buy the game, you can not D/L it legally. A link I saw posted on M.A.P.'s site:
RvSMaps.com. Read up and maybe this will help ya. However I believe there are tweaks and adjustments you must make to have it work completely on the xbox.

Q: Can these maps be stored in the TDATA folder like the XBOX Live! downloaded maps are?A: No. Those are stored as save files and a M$ signed. Maybe one day. Don't hold your breath.
