hahhahahah did he do this while the xbox was on.

if its just the dvd drive just get a new one hopefully you can get the key of it so you can put it on the new one.

You can write that one off as plugging in the power cable like that kills the controller IC on the thing, and replacing the drive is much easier than trying to fix it. You'll need to have the key extracted from the drive (so don't toss it just yet) and then injected into a new one, so you can fix it overall, just not that drive.

You can try, it's not going to hurt anything, but can't honestly say I've tried. If it doesn't work you'll have to remove the SST chip and extract the key with an external programmer, or send it off to at least have that part done.
