I want to replace my ms28 with another ms28. I have the key from the old one which is broken, and need to buy a new one. I found one online that's almost exactly the same except it has h/w 007 and is september 2007, while i have 005 and may 2006, whatever that means. Does it matter? And will I still be able to play on live when i swap them? Sorry, I'm a bit of a noob.

If you are replacing your current Samsung ms28 with a replacement ms28 then the hardware will be exactly the same. Use your original key to flash the replacement drive and your good to go.

So just as long as they're both ms28 models the small differences don't matter? Will I still be able to play on live after i swap?

Yes. There is no diffrence between a ms28 and another ms28. Live will be fine too.

This is not even a difference between MS25 and MS28, you can flash a MS25 with MS28 firmware and vice versa.
