Game Hacking
« on: December 31, 2003, 10:42:00 AM »

Hi, I'm getting interested in tryin to do my own game hacks but I can't find any good beginner info.  I only have very basic programming skills but I'm willing to learn whatever I need.  So far, I think what I've figured out is I'll need a debug box and apps and also c++/DirectX programming skills

Thanks.

Hacking is basically a trial and error process ( ex. edit a file by changing some variable then playing to see if it crashes or something cool happens ). There are various tutorials out there, but you will learn the most from simple trial and error.

Great, thans for the reply.  Thats what I hoped. So I just debug the game and play with it, change variables with Hex?

well games like HALO have great tools like hmt v3 (halo map tools) which edits halo's cache (x, y, or z drive after playing it)
