if you have a chip, just ftp NICKNAME.XBN from E/UDATA and open it in hex editor. the current will be on the top in the right.. youll know it if u see it. OR you could do it much easier with Unleash X dashboard... just go to System, then setting and itll have a thing xbox name or something....

if u have no chip then use games like cel damage, DOA3, there are some others look around

Allister copy and paste your NICKNAME.XBN. And you can edit it with word pad, no need to bust out the hex.

what are these nicknames used for? what deturmines what they are? I opened that nickname.xbn and it says my nickname is yayapred. i dont think ive ever changed it and im pretty sure this is the first time ive ever even tryed using a hex editor.

its weird because yayapred is my AIM but i really dont remember doing anything to my xbox, unless it was cell damage which by the way i only got a couple of weeks ago and when i went to start a new game it popped up yayapred but i didnt have any previous celdamage gamesaves. im so confused, help

ur nickname is changed by what saves are on your hdd, for example for some xbox's with certain rtwc saves the name is thompson. Your xbox name is shown when system linking to everone else on the network.

just do %x-buttonahur

Edit: i saw your other post.. what program you using? i used UnleashX and put in %x-buttonahur and it came out fine in halo...
