Received Random Xbox. Total Noob, Need Some Questions Answered
« on: December 09, 2006, 08:56:00 PM »

So a while back I received an Xbox from a friend.  He moved into a place, previous tenants got evicted, and left this box behind with no cords or anything, so I tried it with mine, and got an error screen.

I decided to try it out again and figure out if its junk or not.  At the splash screen it says EvoX on the top left.  Then goes to that error screen, says 09 in the top left.  My  understanding is thats a harddrive error.  I haven't opened it, so I don't know whats in it, whats stock, whats not, mainly cause if I saw it, I wouldn't know what it is.  And the light around the eject button flashes red and green the whole time.

Like I said, I'm a huge noob, who knows nothing about anything.  Any help would be appreciated

1) it's modded with a TSOP flash OR a Modchip

2) Put another HDD in there and run an autoinstaller like SLayers or AID

guess I'll bump this rather then create a new topic.
Its chipped with a blue DUO X2 chip, that says AMD on it. I understand I need a new Hard Drive, however, I currently do not have access to a different hard drive, so I was wondering if there is anything I can do with the one that was in there (80 gig Maxtor)

Double check the power and ribbon cables just in case.

But with an Error 09, chances are it's just plain dead.
