YOUR Epprom + HIS HDD = NEVER EVER GONNA HAPPEN

try the other thing i edited in my other post.

every Xbox has it's own Hdd key and Eeprom (NONE are the same)

When his xbox tries to run it looks to make sure the HDD is locked, if it isn't error #5, If it is LOCKED, but with the wrong eeprom it gives you erro #6. don't know how to better explain it.

but your xbox was working, and you had to use Configmagic to switch eeprom's right?

as for your second question, again NO.

don't buy a new eeprom, read the marriage theory article. You HDD key and eeprom are now "married" and recorded onto XBL's database. So, you must always get a new one of both. ANd on top of that you must get a new XBL account (I'm pretty sure) because I think they now link your eeprom from the 1st time you sign on to xbox live with your gamertag, I don't know.. read the article, It's posted somewhere

READ THE WHOLE THREAD......he's not asking about ANY of that.

He has a problem with an Unlocked Softmodded Xbox.

BTW, did you check that Xplorer 360 thing out?

if the HDD is unlocked, I'm pretty sure you can use it to get the files you need.

Xplorer 360 works on both xbox and xbox 360. Read the readme it should tell you how to boot the program.
But my guess is you need to burn it as a disk and boot it that way.

ok say we did get this xplorer 360 to work and we were able to c the contents of his xbox hd, how are we supposed to get his eeprom because we never did the evox-backup eeprom thing. is it hidden in c/e drive somewhere?

thx

edit**  also xplorer 360 is a stand alone program
