how meny leds/cathodes can i run off the hdd power before I sap too much.

I was thinking of fliping it upside down and having it as a cieling light (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) any way to attach a house fan as the jewel?

you should get some wireless controllers. A whole bunch of led's. Then mount your box in the middle of the ceiling fan. so youll have a xbox light for your room.......kinda like that caller id globe instead of lcd screen idea i had.....

I have heard that you should not put in more than 4-6 Cold Cathode lights (from llamma.com and some other random sources).

With LEDs, you can put a ton in since they do not draw too much power.
