Adding More Extended Partitions Beyond 6-7 (f-g)
« on: June 16, 2013, 01:48:00 PM »

I've got a working 2TB SATA drive in my xbox.
I had to split it into two extended partions, at around 996 GB each, both with 64k clusters.
This comes with a mayor disadvantage because all filesizes lesser than 64 kB counts as 64 kb, and therefore ALOT of space waste when transferring all the games. I want to transfer around 1100 games (~1TB total 7z size) and its not unusual the games got 5.000 small files, each. The waste is huge! The two partitions got full after around 800 games.
I want to have at least four extended partitions so that i can use 32k clusters at <500 GB each.

As far as I know there are two theoretical things I could do:
A ) Drive letters C D E are used by the system, H I J K L M N O are occupied by memory card slots. X Y Z is cache partitions, but what about P Q R S T U V W? Can I create additional partitions using two of those letters? XBpartitioner handles 9 extended partions (number 6-14). The question is if I can assign any letters to any partitions beyond 6 and 7.
B ) Can i extend sizes of C and E, since those two allready exists at around 5000 (C:) and 500 (E:) MB on my current HDD. And then use those two as large partitions aswell?
Please help me get this straight, or give me other alternatives. Thanks!
