Well In my opinion a modded xbox with current apps and HDD upgrade PWNS the current 360 anyday. Im gonna keep playin the orig till the day i die.

I'll have to use my current xbox until someone finds a way to run unsigned code on the 360. Cuz currently my xbox is my everything box. Its on 18 hours of the day pretty much, houses all my music, games, lots of video's etc. Its my media CENTER. So until the 360 has this capability I will be using it as such. Oh and I will not buy a 360 until either it can be hacked to the fullest or it is confirmed that its not possible.

Once I get a 360, my original Xbox goes straight into the display case...at least once all the original games in my collection become backwards-compatible with the 360.

...a modded xbox is way more useful to me than the Xbox 360...

...and yes...XBMC and its continued development is absolutely amazing...

Halo 3...if it is any good, could convince me to get a 360 however...

Well, I bought 2 xbox's 4 or 5 months ago after my old xbox broke. Then 2 months ago i broke another 1 of 2 xboxs i broke. Then the next week i broke the other. I was screwing around with it, and didnt know what i was doing so yea. I had XBMC on them, i dont see whats the big deal with running it. All it does is run videos, play music, view pictures and other stuff. Its just like Windows Media Player but on the xbox. I cant wait till christmas comes, so i get my 360 plus 5 games. But for the past 2 months i have been playing some games on my p.c.

I think MS made a mistake in making the XBOX so darn good/lasting! Well, only a mistake in the commercial sense (cause they want to sell new consoles every five years) I guess... But I'll definitely own my XBOX for a LONG time... I doubt I'll ever actually throw it away however.

i'll keep my 4 xboxes in use as long as they last. just like every other console in my collection ,only my p-o-sx has broken

that is to say i will still play the good games i have on them from time to time.

however the 360 gives me so many more reasons to play. i can chill with a game of hexic or geometry wars when i need a break from fragging people and completing achievments in q4, without having to touch anything but the controller.

there's nothing that makes me want a next gen console yet.
I will buy a ps3 when it comes out just so I can ebay it for twice what I paid.

maybe buy an HDTV with the profit and then think about getting a nextgen system for myself.

Since getting my 360 my xbox has only been used as a media center. I can't see myself playing games on the xbox after playing games in HD on the 360.

I will use it for a long time into the future for media center though.

Heh ill probably be using my xbox quite a bit for another year and or so, at least until the PS3 and revolution come out, then ill make my choice between the three (360, PS3, REV) just as i did when i went from my PS1 to xbox. The prices are usually pretty good by then to

the XBOX will not be replaced till Halo 3 comes out to replace Halo 2 and the 360 gets modded.
