Has anyone had any luck streaming Nero MP4 files on the 360? I was able to get them to play in MCE on the PC by modifying the registry, but when I connect through the 360 it says file format not supported...

The 360 does not support mp4/avi files.

Any particular reason why it doesn't or future plans to add it? Really sucks b/c i have coverted just about my entire DVD collection over to MP4.

That page describes the video abilities of the box. I guess its always possible that it might be added in the future but I doubt it will come from directly from MS. They are pushing their own WMV format.

any one know any good tools for encoding to wmv9 like Nero, or is all in separate steps with many different programs?
