Is There Any Way Of Playing Ps2 Pal And Ntsc Games On Japan Ps3?

I have a Japanese PS3 but I cannot play my NTSC and PAL origional PS2 games on it. Will there be any way of booting these origional PS2 games on a Japanese PS3 using Linux or is it just impossible?
