Ok...um?... i got real happy when i saw that there was a skinner now...
I got it, had some trouble with some missing dll files, fixed that.

But...what i want to know is.... (might be wrong to ask about this)
But where do i find this mesh files (all the files a can modifiy)

I have never skinned anything else except EvoX & XBMC.
So im totally new to all this with animations and 3D stuff.

1st i suspect these mesh files are some sort of directx...sort of stuff, as i read the info for the new tool.
But i wanna know for certain.

2nd....if this all about creating 3D renders...then i will be stuck forever....

Can anybody post or tell me where to find these (default) files? (if there are any)
Or wjust what they are. (i might have them already)

I started the tool and was asked to load  mesh.file (*.x;*.xm)

i search my personal "xbox" apps/tools and could not find any such files.

...i hope this wasnt too confusing.

firstly let me say: AHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA hahaha  :P

secondly lemme say: you will have to stick your nose in the cracks man!

thirdly: its not strictly a 'skinning app'

lastly (and seriously): i cant think of actually any resource _ever_ that ever taught me anything about .xms (the files you are looking for - or to replace - however, OrbCell-FACES.xm in mainmenu5.xip is a good place to start ;)  ) I think, traditionally, the people who have had knowledge about them were hesitant to share :( - but that was in the past - and has all changed now, and i would expect someone is going to write a how to - but it wont be me.

Hm?...im not a total fool you know.
I been around long enough to find my way through even the smallest cracks.  ;)
And....what a hell are you laughing about?

You cant expect me to know everything do you?
Otherwise i would not be a useless unemployed idiot, im just a class-U designer.
(U fo useless)

Well...anyway, thanks for helping..... i just needed one clue & you gave it to me.
it was...mainmenu5.xip, that was the only thing i needed to know.

Now...i got some really hard@ss thinking to do.

" One wont learn much by not asking. "

New Edit:

Ok...this app is no good to me, this is way to complicated.
This is just what i think of it. Like always...if i dont find it easy to use.
Then i wont use it. (dammit..i was hoping to do something.)

However, it might be useful to everyone else.
Im just a simple idiot-designer and nothing else so i should`nt complain.

Well...doesnt matter...i guess i could skin (modify if you like) something else.

Hehe....bleedin seems to have a positive effect.
As u may have noticed, im usally never do such things as getting pissed or start complaining. (but i had my reasons)

I´ll try making a skin, but i can not promise anything.
Even if i did do a skin right now, i couldn`t test it anyway.

My new xbox is unmodded & i dont like to screwing up my sux@ss v1.6 box for nothing.
And besides, i also need a chip. So...would you like make a contribution?
I guess i have to start skinning in darkness without knowing how they look on the screen.

Maybe this will clear up my fury a little.

But will try what u suggested, that thing with the THC.

Btw.
My so called bleedin wasn`t about the skinner app, it was about the results.
And i got what i wantd & im 100% satisfied wíth that.
Dont confuse those 2 things.

'bleeding' is a colloquialism(spell) for complaining where i come from.

I dunno, you might be able to pull it off, but msdash skinning is, usually, not for the blind.

and this is soooooooo offtopic it should prolly be binned. but, like i said, start pulling out those .xms and playing around wit em. You dont want us to think you just blew in for the contest do ya?

Hm?

As i said, i entered the competition to win the prize. but i did not.
So my box still remain unmodded.
Now, i think you understand how difficult the skinning part would be for me then.

Even if i finish it, i cant test it. So basicly i wont know jack until next year.
I lost fair & square i guess.
Im not really blind, i just a way of expressing it.

Anyway, never mind that bullocks rights now.

Okay, i opened up the xm.tool & loaded up a file from mainmenu5.xip
This is what happens....black small window pops up, with nothing on it.
I try another file...same thing.

And if i choose to stripy the mesh, i get an error message & the tool is closed down.
So tell me what is wrong?

Also, am i suppose to put something in the meshes.x / meshes.xm folders ?

ya might want to start with www.google.com and put .x in the field - it's a 3d mesh format used by directx. seeing as how you don't have any .x meshes the prog will crash on you because you just can't stripify an .xm. read up on the .x format while you wait for a chip and pick up a 3d modeling prog to make your own in and you'll be heading in the right direction....

well...i should have know it basicly was all about 3D modelling.
Im sorry to say that..thats were my limitations end.

First, my computer is a weak little sucker at 400mhz, and i guess it would take me some time to even make one model.
So, i have no choice but to give this one up right now.
Sorry guys.

Too bad really, i was looking forward to skinning something new.
But this one is way to advanced, especially for my crap computer.

no point in cluttering up the forum with more questions on this one for me.
