First off... this info was very easy to find out yourself @ free60.org!!
I've been looking around was hoping to get a few answers,
As while the nux section is very helpfull there seems alot of beating around the bush....
So, a few questions...
1. What exactly is needed to run linux.
King kong game with xell patch, Gentoo live cd, Patched dvd drive.. no Samsung dvd drive..2. Can you run linux completely from the live cd
Yip just like knoppix 3. what options are available through linux (basic commands, full programs, web browser
??
look at the screenie... Pretty much anything you can compile @ PPC, but no sound and no 'real' video driver yet4. could full / additional programs be ran via a live disk direct from a usb stick etc ??
wah.. you can do it with knoppix so.. well kinda but every time you reboot you will loose your settings etc files stored on usb would be save, but usb devices are still a bit buggy 5. How reliable is linux via a samsung drive.
not very reliable i'm afraid.. maybe with the new patch that has been released but haven't heard any user comments about it so.. try and tell us? My main reasons for the above are I would love to delve into Linux, but would prefer to avoid tampering with the 360 Hdd,
and keeping the whole "LinuX" as an extra simply accesed via the kong / boot / live disks...
Could the live cd be instructed to read / run from a usb stick and if ran externally (via th ecd) am I righ tin thinking and problems with the alledged unreliable usb sticks, wouldn tbe dangerou sto the system ?
Appologies if I sound a complete n00b, Just trying to get the straight facts,
idd .. very basic and lazy guy's questions.. look it up then say is this right? questions instead of this ^^
