Linux Without Firmware Upgrade, But With Globe360?
« on: April 01, 2007, 04:20:00 PM »

Hi,

I don't know much of this, but i have a question.

I have the globe 360 chip in my box, do i still need to flash/upgrade my hitachi lg drive to be able to run linux?
Is the upgrade only for reading backups (king kong) or does do something else?

Thanks in advance!

I forget  but doesn't globe allow you to use regular FW as if you had a FW hack? If that's the case then it will be the same.

If globe however uses their own FW then you would have to test to find out. Not much you would have to do though, just use the xell-loader to patch your KK and burn a Live Linux disc and try it out.  wink.gif
