Nexgen Setup!
« on: February 23, 2004, 01:41:00 PM »

I recently downloaded the Nexgen 16.02.04 FIXED file.
But I need help setting it up!
I use evox as my default dash, and I wanna keep it that way...
Can someone please tell me how to install the dashboard on my F: partition, so I can launch it from Evolution-X??

Thanks!

To get neXgen to boot from your apps folder

Put:

* Skins (Folder)
* nexgen.xml
* nexgen.cfg
* nexgenhttp.dat
* nexgenmedia.dat

To either the root of C, E, F or G

and put the XBE in your apps folder and it will boot neXgen for you. Also make shore neXgen XBE is called default.xbe

or you can upload the files listed above in to a subfolder
C:\nexgen, E:\nexgen, F:\nexgen or G:\nexgen

if put into a nexgen subfolder change the XML entries for the waves:
<Sounds>c:\skins\waves</Sounds> --> <Sounds>c:\nexgen\skins\waves</Sounds>

Hope that helps you.

SpOoK, it doesnt load, just sits there

put the nexgen dashboard.xbe into E\Apps\nexgen\ and named it default.xbe

put the rest of the files into root of E

doesnt boot up when launched thru evox

Man im having the same problem.

I have my ftp opened right now ill see what i can do.

=====----------------======

Ok, it worked, but took about 8 seconds to load ( :boring: ) - The dash looks awesome, i used the original nexgen (they released it x-mas eve if i remember correctly) and this one is a great step up.
Just a question -how come u scroll thru the list of games/apps/emulators soo slowwww? Cant use L+R for a speedy one?

can i edit this in the xml or something? ty
