I think it's a good thing and not redundant as many claim. FSD temp works well for idle temps but while you can't see the temps during gameplay. This can still give you a clue on how hot your system is running and which games make it run hotter. Now that being said, I hope it will become available soon.

seems like the 30000ms tickinterval is hardcoded...

i cant even open my log file.

heres the (german) error message:

QUOTE

************** Ausnahmetext **************
System.FormatException: Die Zeichenfolge wurde nicht als gültiges DateTime erkannt.
bei System.DateTimeParse.Parse(String s, DateTimeFormatInfo dtfi, DateTimeStyles styles)
   bei System.DateTime.Parse(String s)
   bei TemperatureViewer.TemperatureLog.LogEntry.Parse(String LogLine)
   bei TemperatureViewer.TemperatureLog.OpenLog(String LogPath)
   bei TemperatureViewer.Form1.openToolStripMenuItem_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e)

edit:
if i manually switch day and month of timestamp in log file, it opens the logfile.
and if i in addition to this remove the empty lines with notepad++ the viewerprogramm works for me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

now someone needs to make an excel sheet to feed in the logfile

This is a very valuable plugin! I, and all JTAG'ers should be thankful for this!

Thanks!

You need to use 3rd party like excel to make graphs. (Just import, you might have to play with the extension ..)
Sorry if the viewer is a little shaky, we might put the source for it out there at some point so others might dev it more finely..
You should be able to edit the tempertauredump.ini to change your tick interval, remember if you use FTP, you will need to reset the box (from memory) to get the changes to effect. Let me know if you are still having problems. We haven't tested in other languages yet. You can usually upload the log on the fly without crashing... (usually :-)

Sorry it took longer than we expected to get out there.. BTW :-)

Enjoy/Dan AND I WANT TO SEE LOTS OF GRAPHS PPL ;-) Let us all know how you keep ur 'Precious' cool ;-)

Does this plugin stay on the screen all the time? Or am I able to toggle it with a specific key/combo?

very awesome cant wait to try this out. I was a fan of the feature that FSD had where the ring of light would change colors depending on the temps so this will work nicely to see how fast I really need my fan spinning.

It's not on-screen, it dumps to a log-file that lets you know what game you were playing etc..

When you use it for a while you will be amazed at how quickly the temps can drop before you get back to FSD.. and how much they can fluctuate in a big game... If u set the tick too short it will induce a load of it's own over time, so keep that in mind (there's really no need to have it too short) We are hoping someone will do a benchmarking app next that will allow us to precisely benchmark cooling improvements etc.. It opens a whole debate about what 'other' advantages may be created by getting super-low super-conductive temps etc..  Pretty sure 360 mobo has some lvl of built-in voltage and/or multiplier throttle for temp management, also quieter fans is awesome too! There's a lot more to this than meeets the eye ..

have fun!/Dan
