Dash Launch v2.23

As far as I know, and from experience, the problem with certain XBLA games is not Dash Launch itself, but the content patch feature. You can turn that off, patch your XBLA and DLC stuff and avoid the problem.

With 2.21 it was dash launch.  (TMNT turtles in time XBLA loading to a black screen)

The link I gave has a couple people confirming it, and I verified myself.

And people confirmed with 2.22 the problematic game then worked.

I also just verified for myself, was on 2.21, TMNT turtles in time black screens on load, installed 2.23b (did not change anything in INI, now works fine.)

crimpshine, there was at least one game (Yars Revenge) that didn't work because of the liveblock, it stalled on a black screen when resolving 'localhost' (even when there was no network cable) which was fixed for 2.22
CODE
v2.22
- resolving 'localhost' when the router forwards it to the internet or there is
no network at all... bad idea game devs... fixed (Yars', maybe others)

I'd bet adding liveblock=false would have fixed TMNT too, putting it into the 'maybe others' category...

Thanks alejandroues, you were correct... some critical code to hddalive was commented out along with some debug text at apparently the last minute before release, there is now 2.23b that has it working correctly (for all intents it's identical to 2.23 except hddalive option now works like it should.)

yes the new version its working fine.
thank you so much

You can go right to 13599 and DashLaunch 2.23b.

Who would I talk to about adding a new feature to DashLaunch?

I coded something up that allows me to use Avatar Items. I have a hard coded xuid but I am sure the devs could work out something so the user could add the xuid to the .ini file.

If any devs are interested in this they could send me a PM or talk to me on AIM : ixDwack.

After that I I verified everything works and it did, then I copied the installer folder from Dash Launch 2.23 to the root of my internal HDD with the launch.ini in the folder. Any suggestions?

Not too sure how relevant the change is  m8 but there is a change to Dash Launch.

Dash Launch 2.23b is available at xbins......worth a try ...and make sure you delete the previous folder before
using this one.  wink.gif  Hopefully it should work.

After reboot I copied the launch.ini to the root but it will not boot to FSD no matter what. I have tried several times. I do have the .ini setup correctly also.
Any suggestions?

Dont you copy the ini prior to launching ? I do and it ask if I need to update ect..... could try that, also make sure you delete  all previous obsolete files
and make sure you have no duplicate files.

I have been saving it as ANSI, so will try UTF-8 shortly.
Thanks

PS Rigger66: I did use Dash Launch 2.23b. I just forgot to put the b in the post. Thanks though.
