Upgrading To Mce Troubles

I've obtained a copy of what is claimed to be MCE 2005. Yet everytime i install it (i choose upgrade instead of advanced install). it installs and says its xp pro 2002. Wut's the deal?

what "claimed to be" so your saying that the little box your disk came in "claimed to be" MCE 2005? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

exactly lol. I've actually tried two versions, one i borrowed from a friend. But i'm not sure if i have to do a clean install or if it'll work with upgrading...

MCE 2005 requires a clean install, you can't do an upgrade install with it.
