FINALLY AFTER 2 DAYS OF SERACHING!
The Problem is SP2 disables UPnP by default!

After installing all the software at
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/pcsetup/XPSP2.htm it will say that it didn't work,
just wait it takes a long time. Cancel out of the install.

Hit Start

Then run

Then type "services.msc" without the quotes, hit enter.

Find the following services and turn them all on...
HTTP SSL
Universal Plug and Play Device Host
SSDP Discovery Service

Then start the Windows Media Connect Service.

Boom, everything just starts working.

To start the services, right click on the name then hit properties.
From the "Startup type" dropdown list choose automatic then hit the start
button.

Hope it works for you!

Hmm tried that, still a no go..

Is your computer connected directly yo your xbox, or through a router/hub?

Why is this so difficult??

Connected though a Linksys BEFSR41 v2 wired hub, now the only other 2 things I did was 1. Enable UPnP on the router (not sure if that matters) and 2 Installed TVersity like someone else mentioned http://www.tversity.com/download.html (Although It didnt start working until I reactivated UPnP in my services, and I have uninstalled TVersity)

Hope it works for you!

I've got my 360 hooked up to a Dlink DI-524 Wireless router, although it's physically connected with an ethernet cable.  I have tried, both, the Services.msc and the TVersity ideas.  All of the listed services were already running when I checked, and the TVersity is having all sorts of problems even RUNNING on my pc.  Everytime I click on the "Share Media" button for TVersity, it crashes at the command prompt.   uhh.gif

totally false. The whole point of media connect in our case is so you don't have to be running media center.

not true, you need media center edition if you want live tv and stream video. you can use 2000/xp with windows media connect to stream music and photos to the 360.

Yes, you only need windows xp, windows 2000.

You only need media center if you want to play, streem, record live tv.

Still no dice for me.  Does anyone use a router other than Linksys, Netgear, or D Link?
