Yes, but if you dont have a way to fix it if something goes wrong then I would not recommend updating. If you have the ability to recover and flash again then go ahead it cant hurt.

Go ahead it's safe.
I did it for one of my custumers whose 's "lost" the original nand flash and his flasher didn't had a backup  wink.gif
