After some USBstick-versions, FrostyTheSnowman also updated his original '360 Modification Disc(info)' tool. From readme/nfo:

* Replaced HIMEM.SYS with FDXXMS.SYS (better memory management)

If my 360 is already 1.6 cfw enabled, do I have to use this?

I believe it's simply a revision rather than a newer version. Hence "revision" in the title. I don't mean to sound sarcastic. I was wondering the same thing and after reading each of the updates I think it's more of an update for Frosty's disc tool. Improved memory management means a more efficient tool. Typos and code cleanup don't imply a change in function. Added GUI helps upcoming users. Disclaimers are always a good thing. So all in all these all apply to the tool itself.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

you're right.  he is just changing his program.  the firmware is not made by him.  The firmware he uses is iXtreme firmware 1.6 (the latest).  The firmware is bundled in his program, which is why linking to his program is not allowed on this site.

Awesome, so if we managed to use his tool to great success before, then this one is mostly for newcomers to make things that much easier. Got it!

Windows drivers have no effect on my software (since my disc is DOS based), so it doesn't matter what drivers you have installed, my software will still work just fine. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

So the short answer is yes, it will work just fine.
