« Reply #136 on: August 28, 2009, 09:40:00 AM »

Yep, it should be out tonight, sorry about the delays, I found a few last-minute bugs that needed to be cleaned up. (lots of changes can have that effect smile.gif)

Check back tonight after 6pm MST and it will be available on XBINS.

Changes in v1.6 Revision 4:

 - Added support for Lite-On DG-16D2S Revision 83850C
 - Added new 'FrostyTheSnowman' logo (thanks Shinho!)
 - Replaced FirmTool (by Caster420) with LiteTool (by Klutsh) for Lite-On drives
 - Removed DummyGen for Lite-On drives (no longer required thanks to LiteTool, thanks Klutsh!)
 - Replaced 'USB Drive Format Tool' with 'Bootable USB Drive Creator Tool' (custom-made for me by Team Modfreakz)
 - Typo fixed in HTML code (thanks yaywoop!)
 - Replaced HIMEM.SYS with FDXXMS.SYS (better memory management)
 - Updated the 'Creating Your 360 Modification USB Drive' tutorial
 - Added a small note in the menu about not using spaces in the 'directory name' due to MS-DOS limitation (thanks Guentha!)

so doing the lite-on is just like the benq pretty much? all i need to know is the port of my via and the rest i can just read from the bios what to do?

Correct, the new Lite-On drives (83850c) are just as easy as the Samsung/BenQ drives with Revision 4. (in fact, the walkthrough steps are pretty much identical smile.gif)

Older Lite-On drives (74850c) still require a probe though... sad.gif

I must be missing something, but where can I download the Revision 3?

XBINS.

But Revision 4 will be out after 6pm MST, you might want to wait for the new version. smile.gif

It is an FTP site, the XBINS.ORG site is just a front-end with readme files, the software itself is on the FTP site.

Hey Frosty,

I'm still getting the internal stacks error when I have both my sata hd plugged in and my usb stick with revision 4. When I unplug the Sata HD, the program won't boot up properly and stalls at the "installed as T Drive:" screen.
I formatted using ms-dos and not free dos(tried freedos but that didnt work).  Any ideas on what could be the problem? Again thanks for the program. it looks like there were a lot of many things done in this last revision. cheers!

I'm trying to use this to flash my BENQ drive, which has previously been flashed, but not by me.  It gets to the Erasing... stage (after unplugging/plugging the power) and then stops.  I reset my PC and restored the original firmware using the custom option and tried again, same issue.  So, at the moment it's sitting on Erasing... and I'm about to try again.  Any ideas?  Anything more you need to know?

Thanks for this Frosty, even if it's not working for, it's still great work smile.gif

Update:

I figured it out, it had already created the new firmware before Erasing, so I wrote that using the custom option, worked a treat.
