As far as i know, its for ripping games.

when you put the disk in, it just shows the 5meg video partition (y'know. put it in a 360 video)

when you click unlock. it shows the whole disk (7+Gig)

im guessing it had to be used in older versions of xbc. since it does it automatically now, when you try to rip a disk. but i dunno.

As you say it's done automatically when backing up games, I guess I don't need to worry about that function.
