The CK3 Lite is probably most ideal one to use with my disc, but you can also use the CK3 Pro with the serial port. (my disc does not support the USB option)

Maximus' 360 Xtractor would also work well as long as you use the serial port and not the USB. happy.gif

It's in the 'usual' place, as stated in the first post.. xbins, and the easiest way to get there is with auto xbins found here: http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=642129

Yep, the Lite-On DG-16D2S still requires the serial cable for dumping the key.

I recommend getting a CK3 Lite and a Probe for the Lite-On DG-16D2S. happy.gif

I do have a question for ya frosty...

The last time I flashed my benq, I had to do the "cut-traces" method in order to flash it with my intel mobo.

Well, a PC later (newer intel chipset) and the possibility of IX 1.6 in the horizon, would I need to re-connect those traces? would your mod-disk work with Intel-ICH6 chipset? or would it be easer/wiser to go with JF (I am not saying your tools are bad, just saying different tools handle different tasks/scenarios differently  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) )

And, before you ask, yes, I do still have the origional FW "benq-org.bin" somewhere amongst my disks. lol, in fact, I believe I have 3 separate copies of it (yes, I am paranoid like that)

Yes, I know it seems odd, but I am STILL running my benq with those traces cut (since FW 1.41 release) and I have yet to be banned from live (although I only have a silver acc., they can still ban you from that).

@BlackWar

It depends on your chipset, with the ICH6 I imagine it is a lot like the ICH5 which does require the traces to be cut. (AFAIK)

Although, since my disc uses the newest version of DosFlash, you might get lucky and it might work just fine with the ICH6 with or without the traces cut. happy.gif

As far as using JungleFlasher goes, if you are comfortable with using JF then by all means use it, my disc will never be as good as JF (as far as advanced options go), my disc is really only meant to be a quick solution to modifying your drive. If you are experienced and trust yourself with JF then you should use it. happy.gif

P.S. JF is probably more compatible with the ICH6 overall, but my disc should work fine too.

So fun thing happens when I burn the software to a disc. I get a boot up screen that just displays ".." and nothing else. Burned the disc again, thinking it was faulty, NO! Any ideas?

Probably a compatibility issue with your BIOS - how old is your PC?

Unfortunately some PCs are not 100% "El Torito" compatible... (boot method used by this disc)

It is a Dimension 4500, it just says Intel Corp. Version A03.

It did boot up your first one (1.5), but now I need to use 1.53 because 1.5 will not properly dump firmware from my two DVD Drives.

Hello Frosty I have a question for you,

I have used your disc more then once and it is great and I have flashed sams benqs flawlessly.

But for some reason, it happens to be MY xbox, that when I turn it on it will powercycle the computer I am using. This has never happened to any other xbox I have flashed. This has already been flashed to 1.51 just trying to upgrade to wave3 firmware. any help would be fantastic.

Try updating the BIOS on your PC, then you should be good. (you can do this by going to Dell's website)

Your PC is new enough to work with my disc, you probably just need a BIOS update. happy.gif

Have you tried running a ground wire between the case on your 360 and the case on your PC?

What type of drive are you flashing?

Have you tried a different SATA cable/different SATA ports?
