Thanks for this Frosty  biggrin.gif

I think what darylzero meant to say was ( cleaned it up a little )

Is it still suggested to Not use the 360 as a power source but rather use a Separate Power Source like a Kit?

I notice the Xbox360 stays on for about 10s after pressing hte power button.

Frosty's Reply:
There's the whole problem right there, you are using your 360 as a power source for the drive.

As said many times before, I do not recommend using your 360 as a power source for your drive when using my disc.

MS-DOS is all about timing. My disc is built to have things happen at certain times, which the 360 fouls up when being used as the power source. Please use either a XENO Connectivity Kit, an Xecuter Connectivity Kit, a CK3, or a homebuilt power connector, please avoid using your 360 as a power source for the drive.

As long you understand whats going on during the flashing process (and can react accordingly) its not an issue. e.g one issue is that you need a video cable plugged in, whereas with the kits that's not needed. Educate yourself as to what's going on, and you'll be fine. Every single drive type is flashable whilst being powered by the 360 (without exception).

I'm pretty sure Frosty said that the hitachi tools required windows, so he couldnt make a disc with them included.

Yes, my disc always requires a Lite-On serial adapter (CK3, homemade, etc) to mod or re-mod Lite-On drives.
