Posted by XanTium | August 3 09:59 EST | News Category: Xbox360

Klewan released a new version of uxrip360 - a Linux based Xbox 360 game dumper.
What's new/fixed:
* xtract-stealth also extracts now default.xex (required for a full stealth check)
* check-stealthfiles checks a set of SS/DMI/PFI and default.xex against all implemented stealth checks
+needed to verify those marked-as-bad-stealth-by-schtrom bourne files (thx @stacker69)
* extraction of default.xex added
* full stealth check even before game partition dump starts :)
* XEX-ID code clean up, reorganisation
* Game name is now goin to get looked up :)
+the XEX Media ID is used to match against a CSV file (see below in additional notes)
+gives you the game name on verifing a iso
+gives the name on rip-a-rip's
+gives the name right a few seconds after a rip has started
* colors can be turned of with "-C" flag
* more colorful output
* autodiscover now trys to find the kreon drive with a disc inside, if you have more than one :)
* verified the VAD6038 drive with benq0800 FW
* a few compile warnings on Kubuntu fixed
* non-cmdline progressbar improved (watch out for a GUI on its way)
* a .dvd file is created after rip for those who use cloneCD or whoever needs it :)

I want to get this thread some life , no posts on something with linux is sad in my opinion. I spent yesterday getting Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron (i think) up and running with everything i needed codecs Compiz fusion and ushare for sharing to my xbox360. Then i tried out this uxrip i had to install a few things to get it to compile and it did not tell me what things it was missing so i just installed some more compiling things and libraries the most common ones i could think of , i think i ended up putting g++ and gcc 4.1 on their and it worked but i installed a few other things too anyways after it compiled i ran the command to rip the game in my Kreon drive it ripped no problem , and then i issued the command with a blank DVD in my drive to burn the game.
 sudo growisofs -use-the-force-luke=dao -use-the-force-luke=break:1913760 -dvd-compat -speed=2 -Z /dev/cdrom2=game.iso cdrom may be different on your computer mine is actually cdrom1 dont know why it says 2
that is a different game and with the Gamelookup option setup the rip should find the game name but im not worried about that , anyways it gives you a final.iso in whatever folder you specify , and when you burn just change directories too the one with the game in it and you dont have to type the entire directory listing out , this worked just fine except i am using memorex discs and have noticed after going back and trying them all even my Windows burned games on the memorex discs will not always boot , but anyways all the games boot i thought it was a linux problem with the trouble booting but it turns out memorex are not good for 360 backups , i will also try burning at a higher speed next time see if that helps maybe it will , i burned all my other games at 8x and they boot better. Make sure dvd-rw-tools is installed , and setup a root password then issue the command SU and type in the pass in the command line so you will have full write access to everything , makes it easier and you should not need the sudo at the begginning of the growisofs command. This has given me a reason to ditch windows again and i thank you Klewan for the progam and whoever posted the info on it. More posts people i know i am not the only Linux user in this forum other people use it also. If people are turned off because of fear of the command line get over it already , if you learn the command line you can get anything done faster than in windows ANYTHING , all programs have a command line backend and sometimes the frontend does not even have all the options available to you , one example off the top of my head in windows would be winrar if you want to skip the crc check you have to issue a command on the promp , of course windows has a weak ass shell.
