right i have attempted 2 copies today. I have extracted using full disk Xtreme V2 on both and extracted the SS and patched with SS Patcher, and during writing with clonecd, it has hung halfway through writing the disk. MotoGP was at 16% then stopped. and dead rising on about 74%

What am I doing wrong?

I'd suggest using Xbox Backup Creator.  Seems less buggy.

If you already have a working backup you should be able to copy it using Decrypter -no ss tools needed.
