I'm going to give this tool a try.

Is there any need to put the Sammy in 0800 mode anymore with this app..? Or do I just hook it up and boot directly into windows and start the backup process...?

I'm running the C4E v3.2 on my Sammy at the moment.

Thanks,

PM

you will need Sammy in 0800 for windows to not lockup during the boot process.

Upon launching the program.....
1st Error

Error Initializing ASPI or SPTI Interface.

2nd Error

91 Object variable or With block variable not set.
My SH-D162C is not detected by the program, however detected by Windows and other software.

Adaptec ASPI Drivers (Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP) 4.71.2

If you install that it will fix your 1st error.    2nd error might pertain to your first error.

P8ntballer23 - Thanks for the info, I'll have to fix that!

Some people report better ASPI support with the Nero ASPI driver.
http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/en/ASPI_Driver.html

put the wnaspi32.dll in the same folder as the application.

Thanks for the application and all your work.  I have a suggestion for the name to avoid confusion - Xbox Backup Kreator or XBK.  The acronym conveniently includes the abbreviation for back (BK).  Just a thought....

I think you have one of your "Hint" mis labled. I might be wrong so sorry if i am.

Under the image tab if you hover over Action > Extract, the hint is about merging and if you hover over megre its hint is about extract.

Nothing big just caught my eye.

On my Samsung SH-D152c the maximum read speed is 1.9x  and and takes more than a half an hour to rip the xbox 360 disc.  It used to rip them under 10 minutes.  What can I do to speed up the drive?  I have the speed boost option checked.

Heres a log:

 Creating backup image [D]
   Opening image output file
   Processing Video Partition
   Processing Filler Sectors
   Inserting TAG information
   Processing PFI Sector
   Processing DMI Sector
   Processing Security Sector
   Unlocking Game Partition
   Processing Game Partition
Setting read speed to 0x10
Setting SH-D162C error mode to 0x01

Zil_Daggo - I thought about that, maybe in a later release. I wanted to do on-the-fly read/write without ever going to the hard drive, but to do that the app need to be multi threaded, which sucks for VB6.

Yes but may I still advice that you take the 'cheap' way out and just use a temp file, at least have the option. Automation is always a nice feature. This would be relitivly easy to impliment, and could be a simple checkbox feature.

Also if you have a way to  accept donations I would gladly send, again nice work.

Well I don't know what the hell just happened, but I checked create log file and selected detailed.....and it's working now. uhh.gif
You still want a copy of the log file now that it seems to be working?

Just an update. Seems the drive didn't play nice with my motherboard (ASUS A8N32 SLI-Deluxe). I took it out and put it in my Intel rig and it's working fine now.

Thanks for the awesome app. The GUI is nice and noob friendly!  smile.gif
