The Samsung SH-D162C seems to be real picky, especially when in an extrenal enclosure.  If you have an option, try USB 2.0.

111spider111 - I would love to have full support for the Hitachi.  I can currently Read Video, PFI, DMI, SS.  The problem comes in with the game partition.  I have not seen a Hitachi firmware that will allow reading the video, then unlocking to see the game data.  This would be my biggest request to Hitachi firmware hackers.

(by the way the new stealth firmware breaks some functionality in my app because of the nature of the stealth the app doesn't detect the firmwares features properly. It can be forced with a registry patch is needed, or I may come out with a small update.)

Before I release an update I would like more feed back on if the dvd writing has improved, gotten worse or stayed the same.

Red -

Thank you for your reply.  I understand that you are just the builder not the architekt on all of this Hitachi BS.   I can only hope that a firmware does come out that can unleash the power of the Hitachi!!!   Ha Ha.  Keep up the good work.

Thanks,

jazzbeam - that is a known problem with some drives.  I will prob to a release this weekend to address it.

karlpowell - you have done some of this but I'll say it anyways.  Make sure the drive is the only device on the ide channel (nothing else connected on the same cable) Make sure the DMA is on.  If there are still problems, try using a different ide controller.  This drive seems to be real picky.  If the drive is external it will error more but best result are using usb 2.0.

good luck

Great tool - Thank You! Seems easy enough to rip and record but,

Is there a guide that details each tab and option for those of us not YET in the know ?

I've read the ReadMe and looked on this forum as well as XH. If I'm missing it posted somewhere (I've seen others request this as well), a quick link is greatly appreciated.

thanks mate for your excellent program !

at first i couldnt get it to work with my samsung DH-C162 ( kreon .81 ) , it would get to 3.5 % and stall with an error saying unable to get ss  ( security sector ).

so after reading this forum and scratching my head i went into device manager and uninstalled the samsung drive then re-started my pc and let it reinstall the samsung drive !

then i shut down a few programs that was working in the background and tried again , guess what viola it worked used xbox backup creator and schtrom 360 i can now rip a game without any errors in about 10 mins !

dont know which fixed the error for me uninstalling the samsung or shutting down programs in the background , but i have to say it now works 100 % of the time with any 360 game no probs .

the only thing i can think of is that maybe the samsung is a picky drive or software conflicts , having said that keep up the good work and alls well that ends well , woof811 .   biggrin.gif
