New To Site, Can Someone Direct Me For Media Center Portal?

Hi all,

I am new to the Xbod 360, and heard about MS Media center.  On ebay, there is a product called xbox 360 media center portal.  I am wondering:

Does this work just as good as the true MS media center?  
Does it connect to my xbox 360?

If there is a page that describes all of this, can someone provide me a link?
