VLC360 v1.2
« Reply #90 on: February 10, 2007, 09:02:00 AM »

Wll uhm. I've installed VLC360, it seems to be working and I get the GUI on 127.0.0.1, but how do I start it in MCE?

EDIT: Sorry, didn't read too much before asking. But it wasn't all so simple. It works just fine, but the standards in MCE is better with the right codecs combined with Transcode 360 :\ Well, nice program anyways. For DVD-playback it is just choppy, the same goes for HDTV-movies.

Hi!

Does anyone know how to activate .srt-subtitles?

I've tried to create a separate folder containing the video file and the srt-file but that didn't work. VLC360 only shows the video file. Where/How can I change that?

Thanks.

Okay, sorry to bother you, but I give up. I've tried so many programs and codecs that i've prob. just made a bigger mess of things... *sigh*

I finally got an iso to work with vlc360, so i'm surprisingly happy about that. The main reason I'd use vlc360, however, is to watch avi, divx, xvid, etc. (dunno if there is a diff.) I've tried two different avi files and they both have the same problem. They both work perfectly fine when I watch them on my laptop, but when I try them on the 360 it says, "Files needed to display video are not installed or not working correctly. Please restart Windows Media Center or restart the computer."

And believe me, I DID restart media center and my computer multiple times. I don't know what there is left for me to try (not that I'm an expert or anything) but to ask what the usual problem is for this kind of error message.

This is the third time this year I've sat down and tried to figure out how to watch divx on my 360 and I'm the closest I've ever been. Please help me! blink.gif

Interesting. I found out that the file can't have any spaces and must end with .avi.

For example:  "101 - Pilot" must be changed to Pilot.avi, and it works fine. Maybe this will be fixed in a later version?

Just a quick question for you all, i have tryed everything to sort this problem out. Reformatted and completed re-installed MCE + VLC. i have reinstalled VLC about 8 times, still doesnt work. The menu works fine but the video shows the below. No matter wat video it does the same. I have tryed installing codec packs even tho VLC uses its own codecs. The actual VLC standalone viewer, views all the DVD's fine, its just wen it is displayed through media center.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks for your repsonse, i have tryed renaming the video to "1.avi" as a test, but still has the same pixelated image. I have tryed it will 8 different videos, some of the videos dont play at all and return the error "Cannot play video - Media Center Cannot open the video" But if i open any of the videos with VLC standalone viewer they all work 100% fine, so if there any settings which can be changed with VLC360 to make it work?

Hi All,

I was wondering is this program will work with Windows Vista, I installed it and when I try to access it with my 360 I git a message saying it's not compatable with this verison of Media Center, could I be missing something?
If this won't work could someone tell me of a program thats like this that I could use that is vista compatable?

Thanks alot,

aight... i have played a few files on here and they worked but im trying to play a .bin file right now and there is no sound coming out... so i opened it up with the standalone vlc player.... and no sound... i go to audio and change the audio track to number 2 and it works... soo basically how do i get it to play that track on the xbox or even the GUI on my computer?

EDIT: forgot to mention... GSpot tells me the audio is "MPEG-1 Layer 2"
