Other Program Then Wmc To Stream Video

Has anyone with a 360 tried other UPnP based programs than Windows Media Center?

Twonkyvision Forum Thread - 360

Kiss has a program for Mac & PC.

Nero has a program also.

All these "hosts" files on your computer and a networked dvd player can see them.

Would be great if it worked... Or if it's possible in the future.

On your last point: Windows Media Connect on your PC can detect UPnP compatible devices to stream content to, but a third party UPnP media server on your PC cannot directly connect to an Xbox 360, only Windows Media Connect can. More info from MS: Windows Media Connect FAQ.

This bites in my opinion because MS is only using standards for its own benefit. But there are new apps coming out that convert media on your computer to be Xbox 360 compatible (i.e. Videora Xbox360 Converter).

It's going to take some middleware to make this happen.  Whoever comes up with it is going to make some cash becasue there are a lot of people on older Windows systems, Linux, and Mac platforms who'd like to take adavantage of the system's media capabilities.

I personally can't wait till someone figures it out.  Even if it requires a chip, I'm all for it.
