Simple. Partition some free space off your HDD and install MCE as a multi-boot OS.

Correct, you can now purchase WMC as a seperate OS for your computer.  I just gone done setting it up on my computer.  Pretty much just XP pro with some bells and whistles... not much use to me, but hey, at least I'll get full functionality out of my 360.

Can MCE use two processor sockets like Pro or is it limited to one like home?

As far as I can see Windows Media Connect 2.0 allows you to sgare movies also!

http://www.MS.com/windows/windowsme...ct/default.aspx

You need something called a DMR I think though - like a networked dvd player. Possible it would work?

EDIT: yeh, I think it would work. It says the following media devices are supported and xbox 360 is there. So with Media Connect 2.0 we can have movies!

Then again - at the side it says "Streams (plays) music and photos from your PC to your Xbox 360". No mention of movies.

You also HAVE to have SP2 installed - sigh.

You can not stream videos from your XP Pro / Home computer to your Xbox360.

This site explains it in great detail:
http://www.videora.c...x360/video.html

Hopefully someone figures a way around this soon. This is a simple feature that MS purposely left out. It All the more reason to mod your old xbox for XBMC.

Well if windows media connect supports streaming of videos why did they leave it out on the 360. Really hope they open up for this in the future. XBMC is fine and all but I really miss being able to stream HD content.
