Crashing With Games And Can't Load Profiles From Usb

Well I'd still like to know how to just put the profiles on the USB stick with my games, which I think must be possible as I know some people don't use a "proper" Xbox360 HDD but a USB one (unless they have to have a stick in as well for the profiles) but for now I formatted a spare USB stick and Moved my profile to that.

So now I can boot with both USB sticks in and the HDD disconnected and it logs in to my profile and boots to FSD3 but I'm unable to launch the game (State of Decay). It shows under XBLA but nothing happens when I try and launch it from there, or via the File Manager. Both of these approaches worked when I booted FSD3 from the HDD but launched the game from the USB stick.
