Booting Into Dos

whats the esiest way to boot into dos - i have 1 hardrive for windows xp and another 1 i want to use to boot into dos - i have an older computer that won't boot up my 1 gig usb drive

i figured it out found msdos 7.1 installed on my backup hard drive now i can boot up in dos and switch between drives
