Replacement Xbox360 Problems
« on: December 16, 2005, 02:32:00 PM »

I searched for similar topics but the search on this site is crap

I received my replacement 360 from MS today (not my original one)

First off the front was cracked below the usb flap.

secondly they didn't give me my original hd back as was promised.

thirdly, after setting up and recovering my tag, the f*cking thing won't play original xbox games, i've connected to live and run all the updates it suggested, i've downloaded the latest xbox games update xex (December)

I receive the following message:

QUOTE
! Unrecognized Disc

This disc is unreadable. It may be
the wrong region for this console.

1. Match the region of the disc to
the console
2. Clean the disc with a soft cloth
3. Restart the console

I'm really pissed off now.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grr.gif)

also locks up in PGR3 when viewing someones card (while in the lobby) - my other 360 was doing this.

I'm gonna dig a US xbox game out of the garage and see if that works.

Who the hell oversees this operation as it is a mess

toypaj - gonna get a gun and an address  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/muhaha.gif)

the viewing card lockup in pgr3 is actually a bug in the game and happens frequently, not just to you.

First: Why didn't you just keep your original hard drive and send the rest back.
Seconds, looks like you'll have to send it back again (might want to send the hard drive this time too), and yell at them to fix it.

Sorry Forgot about this thread, the remind me e-mail is going to another e-mail account (will change that)

The 2nd 360 (#2) has no content on the HD (backwards compat, etc), the faceplate is cracked below the USB port cover, the grill on top in front of the HD is cracked.

I spoke to MS support and they said they would send a new Machine out and then I should return the other in the same packaging.

3rd box came (#3) On friday 23rd Dec, with New Box, and a PSU (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)  and no return shipping labels

Damned if i'm gonna chase them to send it back, (i'm keeping it) (see pic in sig)

So best thing to do is speak to MS and ask them to send a replacement, and a memory card if poss as I need to buy an MC to copy from old box (#2) to new box (#3) but they are all sold out in shops here.

They asked me to send the whole machine, including HD, I was promised the same HD back.

If I have to send one back again (hopefully not) I will not be sending the HD.
