Hacked Xbox1 Backwards Compatibility v5829 Leaked
« Reply #15 on: March 16, 2010, 02:34:00 AM »

My Son's favourite game - Midtown Madness 3 - won't load unfortunately sad.gif

ISS 2 works, but there are issues - when there are more players on screen, it slows down gameplay compared to when there's only two or three players and it plays too fast!

There was talk about a replacement front-end to set the emulation options - anyone know any more about this?

So far I've run these perfectly fine on my JTAG unit:

Fusion Frenzy NTSC
Halo 2 NTSC
Halo 1 NTSC
Halo 2 Killtrocity Modded Map discs (1 and 2)
Burnout 3: Takedown NTSC
The Simpson's Road Rage NTSC
Rallisport Challenge 2 NTSC
Jet Set Radio Future NTSC
Sega GT 2002 NTSC
Crimson Skies NTSC
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic NTSC

Seeing as they already work on the 360 that's hardly surprising.

to the compatibility folder on partition 2 on the HDD. You should overwrite all of the files in there

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why didn't some1 think of this earlier, awesome dev work, Some comments tho:

It's ran all the games i've thrown at it so far.  Most homebrew apps didn't run though, or ran with problems, that I expected.

So far I've run these perfectly fine on my JTAG unit:

Fusion Frenzy NTSC
Halo 2 NTSC
Halo 1 NTSC
Halo 2 Killtrocity Modded Map discs (1 and 2)

Rallisport Challenge 2 NTSC
Jet Set Radio Future NTSC
Sega GT 2002 NTSC
Crimson Skies NTSC
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic NTSC

Latest T3CH XBMC Build, Quake3, and Windows ce.net (lol) did not load, or caused a hardlock, that's the only homebrew i've tried so far.

I really only think it's worth ppl mentioning the games that the 360 couldn't boot normally.

Apparently someone found a way to get XBMC working on a 360 neway, I'm not sure why anyone would want any of the other XB1 apps (xcept cool novelty value)

Mame360 is great, I'm glad its out there, but there are a few isues with the emu. Some games don't work, which are working in newer versions (golden axe return of Death Addar is one), the vysnc issue sucks. It would be nice to have a filter there too.

yeah!!!! As cool as MAME360 is, it seems it's quite outdated patch-wise. No-one has released their source etc.. for this one. Pity as it only seems to run about 60% of what's out there. Wish someone could patch it ;-) HINT Nudge HINT |;-0  Pleeeaase.......

PS: Cool Xb1 Emu with all the restrictions pulled means I might not have to mod an old one I've got sitting just to play Matrix Reloaded etc.. Alltho an FTP internet client homebrew thingy would be cool, Maybe it could get around some of the restrictions on getting NXE to route on the interweb ;-) if u catch my drift.......  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)

True, the games I posted earlier are covered under the backwards compatibility update from MS.  That doesn't rule out that the person/people who made this hack broke something in the emu that causes glitches with games that once worked on the retail emu.

Getting a nice compiled list of what runs and doesn't run with the hacked emu would be nice, have one place to see what's good and what isn't even if it was covered under the retail update.

It would be enjoyable to see achievements for old Xbox 1 games (Halo, Halo 2, etc...).  Even though these achievements would be superfluous, it would make me play the games through again.

Anyone able to test phantom crash please? My all time fave xbox 1 game, plays far too slowly on the normal 360, I also find it amazing that nobody has ever hacked this game up to make thier own levels and that, esp as there is only 3 maps in the normal game.

also can anyone tell me if i use my hard drive from my retail xbox live 360 on my jtagged will it mess anything up / get me banned or ? - I want to remove the xbox1 compatability from it to have a little more space as it`s only 20GB & i have 160GB in my jtagged machine that id welcome xbox1 compatability with biggrin.gif

i`ve never had the guts to try it as i`m completely addicted to phantasy star universe & losing my account would kill me. thankyou fellas biggrin.gif

I've been playing around with this. Got Beyond Good & Evil working (not officially supported) and tried the regionfree feature by booting Black NTSC on my PAL machine.

BG&E did not play in fullscreen, though. Looked like non-stretched 720x576 on my 720p resolution.

This is big news. I still have an original xbox set up, but being able to dust off some of the games I bought back in the day (looking at you MGS2:Substance) and play them on the 360 is wicked.

Props to those involved with making this happen.
