Now That Most Of Us Are Banned...
« on: May 19, 2007, 03:47:00 PM »

Well as we all know people with custom firmware are getting banned so I suggest for those that can't buy another 360 start using XLink Kai or Xbc and actually get alot of 360 users to use it. Right now all it is is Halo 2 and I think that if all those banned start using these we can change that.

That's just my suggestion cause I really wanna play online

We tried with GOW on XLINK/KAI... no dice, Ping not below 30.

We were all averageing pings in the 90's

Anyone try with XBC?

You can't play any of the newer games on XBC or Xlink. The ping limiter built into the game won't work when you trick LAN into playing over the WAN.

That's the holy grail - to trick the xbox into thinking it's connecting to Live, when in reality it's connecting to a third party server.  It would involve reverse engineering a lot of the live service, but it's probably possible given enough manpower and time.

Try XLan to get play an online/systemlink games
XLan Setup Guide

A tip to never be detected again is to manualy change the Default Gateway of the xbox 360.
this will stop any internet activity from the xbox but it will allow you to use streaming media and other tools
it is quite easy to do.
Goto your network setup.
Assign a manual IP Address and set you Default Gateway to your PC`s IP Address.
Press test setting and test Xbox Live.
it will sign you out, once the tests have started quickly cancel them.
Then go back then back again.
Now look at your Network setting they have saved ok.
Now you will not be at risk of ever going onto Live at all.

Forget about Xlink-kai OR XbConnect. USe leaf. This prog works with all X360 system-link games without xblive. http://www.leafnetworks.net

I have the iXtreme 1.2C Firmware with the Samsung drive. I am interested in using the XLink kai, but I want to know a few things...

1. I am not currently banned from XBL (not even plugged in). I don't care about being being banned from online gaming. If I do plug in what exactly of these will happen?
[a] System updates will brick my system
I will get banned from downloading XBL Arcade games as well

2. If I connect to XLink Kai, will I get banned from LIVE afterwards? (and hence be banned from XBL Aracde)

3. Are you automatically connected to LIVE when you are connected to the internet? I am a first time Xbox user (never used Xbox 1 before much) and am somewhat confused about LIVE. Does LIVE just mean "internet"?

Sorry for all the stupid questions, but I don't want to risk bricking my system and no one seems to have asked these questions before (yes, I've looked thoroughly)

Thanks!

Being banned means you get a connection error (currently) Live banning stops you getting any updates por the box or for games. Your box will not be bricked.

XBox Cs advised me to hook my HD up to a none banned console so I at least got the updates.

In order to be connected to Live, you need to register an account. If you don't have an xbox live account, you will not connect to xbox live and therefore will not get banned.

he's talking about downloading xbox live arcade games though, which leads me to believe he has an xbox live silver account.

just properly make your backups and keep reading the forums. for now your safe, but ms could change their protection scheme.

the thing I'm most sad about being banned is that I cannot get any more updates.
unless what is said is true about putting hard drive from banned system onto a non-banned system?

my friend and I that have modded consoles connect a system link over kai and the ping is always somewhere in the low 20's and we get no lag when playing GoW co-op, its just badass, the only problem was when we tried R6 Vegas.... the piece of crap noticed that our versions were different since mine was originally updated for LIVE play and his never was.

Well that was the xbox 1's pain with xbc and kai. everyone wants to play halo. so you either play halo too or stick to 1 player. sux i know. Hype is such a powerful thing.
