Streaming Media And Internet Connection Sharing
« on: April 22, 2007, 02:10:00 AM »

Hi

bit of a daft question, but have you actually configured MP11 to "share" your
files/video/music?

turn on both the xbox and pc:-

go to library>media sharing and you should see the 360 listed
click on "share my media to" and then click apply etc.

on the 360, go to the dashboard, then the last blade and click
on computers, the 360 will search and find the pc.

if you're running any other firewall, you might need to add the xbox
IP address into it's trusted zone.

I don't think you can have internet connection sharing on & be able to stream media at the same time.  The only solution for you is to get a router, & connect both the computer and the xbox 360 to the router.

"In the rare event that your PC and your Xbox 360 console are connected to a router and your PC is using a Windows ICS connection to a third device, media sharing may not function.

Media sharing depends on the Xbox 360 console's UPnP traffic. This traffic may be blocked by a PC in this configuration. If this occurs, either turn off ICS to unblock UPnP traffic or rearrange your network."
