Question About The Liteon 93450c
« on: December 13, 2010, 04:59:00 PM »

Hi,

Since i have no soldering skills, what would be the best way of flashing the firmware on the 93450C? Can i swap my drive with a different one which is easier to hack?

Thanks

Your best option is to find someone local that is willing to do the job for you, for a price of course. Swapping your drive won't do you any good since you still have to obtain the key from the liteon which requires cutting/soldering.

That's what i was worried about. I don't suppose conductive glue would work in place of the solder? I am more than happy to cut traces, it's the soldering alone which bothers me.

If you afraid to do the soldering your best bet is to do as suggested and get someone to do it for you. There are plenty of people like me that do 20 or more of these drive daily that can do it for you.

You can get a list of people like me that do this for a living HERE.

BTW I moved this to the proper NEWBIE section.
