looks like it could be fixed i have fixed untold amounts of these drives there is another 3.3v pin on the board search and you will find diagrams or use an installer in the installer forums

I have fixed plenty of these. the epoxt can be reather hard to remove. best it to have some one do it for you. I can do it for you for $20US + shipping but since you have your key you chould just buy another drive....it may be cheaper.
