360 Error Code On Sections 1 And 3

have you checked the secondary error code?  There are other errors that will only display two red lights.  
If it is indeed an overheating issue, then do an xclamp mod, that will take care of the problem.  

PS- You should have only needed to remove 6 screws from the case to get access to the dvd drive.!  If you removed more make sure you put back the 8 black ones that go to the xclamp.  From the OUTSIDE of the case.   laugh.gif
I bought one on eBay with overheating issues: the guy had put the xclamp screws back on the board before he put it back in the case.
