Now To Update Ixtreme Firmware?

Hello,
iam going to buy me a new 360 with pre-installed ixtreme firmware.

i want to ask, if it is neccessary to update this firmware in feature and how to do this? do i have to open the xbox and connect the dvd to my pc? is a xeno360 an alternative?

If its premodded there should'nt really be a problem if its iextreme you wont get banned.
mainly because only the first versions of it before 1.3 changed stealth stuff.
1.4 only fixed jitter fix, so if its a recently flashed one, i wouldnt bother
