Did you run it without the fans connected until it went to 2 red lights?
When its on 2 red lights whip the board out & tighten the bolts again.

What was the secondary error code on the 3 red lights?

Sometimes boxes aren't fixable..

Hold the sync button down and then press the eject button to get your secondary error code and then we might be able to help you more.

QUOTE(Tortuga2112 @ May 9 2008, 12:48 PM) View Post

from the error code you've described, the error code list says its a network interface problem. although , its actually 0002.

error code list

I don't think I've read about the 3RLOD being related to that though.

are ya sure it wasn't 0102?  check it again, and if it is related to network interface problem then what you're doing(replacing clamps) isn't going to help anyways.

and, you should have posted in the hardware forum, you'd probably get more help that way.

I guess he got 0022 rather, 0002 is quite rare...
Get the error code again and make sure that you write down all 4 digits properly
4 lights is a zero!

I am going to assume its 0020 which is very common....

You really need a heat gun to do a proper reflow.  Do you have one?

The Xclamp fixes don't do anything really....

You have a broken solder joint in the CPU and or GPU.  By do the xclamp fixes you mechanically trying to just push the chip to the motherboard and make a connection.  This only works for very very tiny cracks and usually only for a short period of time.

By using a heat gun you actually melt and "reflow" the solder creating a new joint.

Not neccessarily...

As I said you need to get a heat gun and do a properly reflow... The box is probably fixable.

Another fix that might be interesting before reflowing the solder below the GPU...
