first of all i wanna say i'm a total noob in this

my problem is i want to upgrade my firmware to xtreme5.2 my drive is already flashed with 4.2
reason why is tthat i'm stuck with the OPEN TRAY problem and can't get the rubber band fix to work correctly and am stuck with having to boot my games 5-6 times before they boot proper and it's getting on my nervs after 6 months
i have a samsung drive model ms28 and a via sata card VT6421A  so it schould work.
i didnt flash the drive myself the first time so went to someone that did for me and now i'm on my own
i already have the backup of my orriginal firmwre stored on my computer.
i do NOT have a floppy drive so do i need to do it with ntfs4dos?or from my hardrive?

problem is i'm a little dislectick and i'm having trouble reading the tutorials as ive read so much that i just dont understand it no more  
so cuold someone giude me ?
or redircet me to a proper tutorial for my problem

ok first of all i got my floppydrive up and runnig again
now here's another problem now i made my boot floppy using xtreme bootmaker ,all went well removed all my ide drives and bootet up the disc i give in samread ******* ***** and press enter and get :

directory already exists
no drive detected
backup orig.bin not found-aborting

when i restart plug everithing in again and restart windows my sammy drive shows up as a third dvd drive(gdrive)but later dissapears sees it when i start up my 360 when connected but the i can't use my mouse for the computer as long as the 360 is runnig

now i'm confused

you could use your orig.bin and put it in the same folder as xtreme5.2  
double click "make xtreme firmware"
select your options, the output file will be "x52a.bin" or something similar.
rename that to "hacked.bin" and put in your backup folder next to your orig.bin
when you boot to dos, just type "samhack xxxxxxx xxxxx" and it will flash with whatever you renamed to hacked.bin.

you do not need to do the samread step because you already have your orig.bin
you just need to flash the latest xtreme f/w over your existing f/w
remember the xtreme5.2 has to be patched with your key.

still sdtuk just tried it like 10 times still  getting NO DRIVE DETECTED
getting tired now as i'm working on this for 32hours but refuse to sleep until it's fixed
i renamed it to hacked bin and put it in the backup folder along with the original bin(placed it wrong the 1st time and it gave an error saying the hacked bin didnt exist,replaced it into the 5digit subfolder and it doesnt give the error no more so i assume its the right one now)
it doesnt display my sata chipset as i read it schould do so

and i now just blew my graphx pc card due to a lttle agression problem

but swat someday i will manage to pull it off

try the textbook technique of booting pc to DOS (USB) and X360 to dash, then connect the sata cable and try the mtkflash w /m /sata hacked.bin (with the hack in the root of the usb) or the sam hack as you have it now.

i am using the textbook but i don't hava a usb key ,i just had to spend several hours reparig my floppy drive
i just got allot of time now just no money to get a usb stick (out of a job now)so will b stuck trying things

stupid i know

samhack isnt working for me but isnt ther something i can do with the ntfs4dos disc ive got that one to and it says it could b done with badflash 2 but something just don't compute in my head know what i mean.

ok it just can't detect my sata drive!has annyone had this problem before please report some solutions cause ive trid about everything out there.
connected to all 3 sata ports...removed it and reinstalled it for like 6 times now...all bad flash methods old and new...hex edited mtk flash manualy...xosam...xtreme bootmakers....10sec...5sec...15sec...and so on and so on...
as i said aerlier i have a sata vt6421a card SIMT173A CEFC with hyperion pro drivers installed.
now last thing im gonna trie and find ,are there different drivers out there for this?if anyone has them or know where they are cuase i can't find em.
mayby something i schould change i the bios or not?

try different pci slot,
try connecting the sata cable after both are started
try do mtkflash..., Escape , then again mtkflash...

finally got it working didnt have to try another pci slot just tried it few times on every sata slot and finaly worked on slot 1 with the mtkflash /sata

finally fixed open tray ooh yeah

since i flashed my drive to 5.2 i have been having trouble reading backups and originals they work fine on my other 360 so i think i'm in some trouble.
could it be cuase i did it with a floppy disc?as i read they recommend usb stick
i flashed it to 5.2a and 5.2b it does exactly the same.worked fine before i flashed them
discs keep freezing at menu or even in game and like they are speeding up sometimes (sound,video and skipping cinematics)or saying disc is scratched need to clean
then again some games work just fine.
 
the games always seem to freeze at the same places but work fine on my other 360
schould i go out and get me a usb  stick and try to flash again?

any help welcome
