do you guys think M$ is rushing the 360? it's a little soon and they could still adopt alot of new technology's if they just thought to re-design. no one wants the 360 to be the halo 2 of consoles (as in it feels incomplete and rushed)

I think it's  gonna be fine... but I can defenetly see some weird upgrade later on.. in a year or 2... something liek xbox 360 now with HD-DVD conpatibility or something...lol

i think they have had plenty of time to get a good quality consol together.
do you realy think that ms just started working on the 360 like 4-5 months ago?

just because a little info was leaked about a new system a few months ago dosnt mean they had just begun working on it.
i beleive they have been working on this console for at least 2 years.

sure it will have its flaws. a few hundred ms test employees cant forsee all that millions of gamers will do or ask of the console. i wouldnt worry to much. i just hope it dosnt come with the same 60 day warinty as the xbox-1

As far as i know there was no rush on Halo 2, it had a long ass time in dev and i think they wanted a hang ending. Now Halo: Combat Evolved on the over hand...

you people seriously need to watch interviews or read them atleast.

the ati R500 has been in dev for the past 2 years, the custom IBM cpu's longer than that.

They started working on the 360s concepts after xbox launched. Thats how consoles usually work, thats how sequels to big games work as well.

I dont mean to offend, but the lack of knowledge as far as how consoles are made and the thought that goes into them, is startling.

I thought it was common knowledge that people knew how these things worked.

i think they should have used bluetooth for the controllers like sony did it wou ld make it that much more compatable with pc

Hmmm is MS rushing the 360? I say yes. Although the 360 has been in develompent for about 3 1/2 years most of the technology that it will be using is either a couple months old or BLEEDING EDGE NEW. Like someone said earlier there are gonna be some bugs in the new tech, so we can only hope that the "bugs" are little things not major. If it were up to me I would push it back till 2006 to implement all the new goodies in tech and give developers more time to shape up there code.

After reading next months OPM something dawned on me. THE PS3 will not be the 360's direct competion till 2006. It's gonna be the 360 v.s. the PS2

This is gonna be interesting because we all know that the PS2 trounced the Xbox in sales. Now MS has a console that is about 2-3 times more powerful then their last. Will history repeat itself or will MS gain the upperhand on the PS2 once and for all. Develpers have the choice of developing a 15-20 million dollar game on the next gen 360 or spend that amount on developing 5-6 PS2 games. This is really going to be interesting.

The 360 will be up against the ps2 and the gamecube until the ps3 come out then the ps3 will be up against Halo 3, the 360, and the revolution.

I was trying to make the point that the 360 will have no real competition until the revolution come out... yeah I said it, the ps3 will pose no threat to the 360.

^ soo true, I think that it's funny how a lot of people think more into sales overall than in each age group, sony and M$ focus more on selling to adults that want to kill and want to be able to play a story where as nintendo want to make games that are more pick up and play, games that a mom can play with her kid.
