First of all the Xenon CPU isn't 10Ghz nor is it just 3.2Ghz. It is three 3.2Ghz IN ORDER cores that are capable of running 2 threads at a time that all share the same L2 cache (so not like 3 separate processors). Also don't be fooled by the high clock speed. How do you think they got 3 cores running at 3.2ghz to fit on the space of one chip? Because they are in order not out of order (OoO) like PC processors are. It frees up a lot of space but also makes the chip slower compared to an out of order chip because the code must be tuned by the programmer and compiler. An out of order chip can change the order of its operations to run code efficiently while the in order chip can't meaning that many CPU cycles are wasted (one cycle is 1hz).
