I have posted this many times and searched it over but no one didnt really explain it well. Do you get to play LIVE with the Silver edition or do you just get to download content.

I believe it is for downloading content and giving you access to Video Chat, Messaging, Gamer's Marketplace, etc. etc.

However, I think MS will offer "specials" to the Live Silver people, to entice them to purchase a Gold membership. This may include certain weekends allowed online to play games.

Generally, I believe only Gold memberships include online multiplayer.

that goes along with what Ive heard as well.

as time marches on, Im sure MS will change a few things up here and there, but if you want to actually PLAY on live, your best bet is to pay for it. Then youll have access to all the goodies

If silver was able to play online I wouldnt get gold, even if it were for weekends. Since you can only download content I am going to get gold.

MS doesn't care that much whether you don't buiy gold anymore though. Since there not reallying solely on Live to make their profits anymore.

Silver won't have every weekend free. It will offer some free weekends, kinda like when the cable company gives you free channels for a bit as a preview.

Silver will only be basic live service, aka friends lists, content purchasing, marketplace, etc.

It's my guess that Silver will have NO online multi-player abilities but MS will probably offer things like free weekends here or there to boost the interest of those who don't have Gold. (kind of like when you get free HBO for a weekend every so often, trying to get you to buy it)

From what I have heard/read, the silver live service will have online muti but only on weekends. The gold service will have 24/7 online multi.

Lol people post without even reading what is going on.

Silver isn't every weekend, you just might get a weekend or two every other month.
