Xclamp Replacement Kit

Kind of capitalizing on everyones work here.  But the kit is really nice and simple.  No cutting of fins/tapping screws etc.

'World's First' DIY X-Clamp Fix Kit for Xbox 360 released to fix Red Ring of Death

Many people have known about a method to fix a busted Xbox 360 for quite some time which is dubbed the 'X-Clamp fix'. The respective fix was carried out by a number of specialist webstores, but a German company is claiming that their special kit has enhanced the fix so an Xbox 360 owner can do it themselves. The respective website/comany also has a lot of information on the fix. While a number of hard core modders have already performed the mod, this is the first kit to put together all the components required at a price of under $15.

Wow $15 + shipping for 4 screws and a couple of washers  jester.gif
Not only that but it uses allen keys.... Why? When the rest of the 360 is phillips and torx.
I could go to homedepot and get 8 screws for under 2 bucks. I hope that people do research before ordering something like this.

So you have to buy 2 kits = $30.

For that price you can easily get hundreds of those bolts and washers and help other people out with their broken consoles. It sucks how people try to capitalize and make money from someone else's ideas, especially if those ideas are spread freely in places like this forum.

well , you know some people are going to buy it.  hell I should start selling the threaded legs in my tutorial as a kit.  at least people will be paying for the labour. The only thing you're paying these guys to do is put the stuff in a bag and send it to you.

all this " kit " does is save you from cruising the hardware section at home depot. you still have to drill the metal case and the rest of the work yourself .
